How to Change Your History Settings for Internet Explorer

There are many reasons why you would wish to change the history settings for your Internet Explorer browser. Some of these include watching what your children surfing, and also allows you to access all your previously viewed websites. Now to change the settings in the history for Internet Explorer it will only take you and your Internet Explorer.

If you are wondering how to access your history using the keyboard it can easily be done by pressing on the “control” button and the “H” button. You must be in an open Internet Explorer for this to work.

There are five simple steps you can take to change your history settings for Internet Explorer they are as followed.

1. Open up your Internet Explorer browser and find the Tools menu.
2. Once you click the Tools menu it should open with a drop down menu, please choose “Internet Options
3. On the “General” tab there will be a button for Borwser History Settings. Click it.
4. In the section you can choose how many days you want to keep history, it is suggested you keep it in your history folder for only a day. Unless you’re running tests and need history to be on the computer, if you aren’t though then you should have it set for a day. The files can take up a lot of space over the course of a couple weeks and it’s easy to forget about this.
5. Click “Apply” and “Save” to complete the changes you have made.

It is rather simple to change the history settings in your Internet Explorer and it’s important at some point or another you check to make sure you are running the most efficient options. Try and always have the history set for one day so you don’t lose too much disk space. For faster computers it won’t matter as much but it still will slow your connection down somewhat.
